Memorial Event To Be Held Commemorating 20th Anniversary Of X Japan Member hide's Passing

A special outdoor concert event to commemorate the passing of X Japan's original guitarist hide has been announced.
On December 10, a concert at Club Citta in Kawasaki was held to celebrate hide's birthday. His younger brother Hiroshi Matsumoto came on stage to announce the 20th anniversary memorial event.
Titled "hide 20th memorial SUPER LIVE『SPIRITS』", the concert event will occur on April 28 and 29 in Tokyo at the Odaiba Outdoor Special Stage. Spread Beaver, a band originally formed by hide, will be appearing at the event, as well as others.
X Japan has not been scheduled to appear at the event at this time.
hide died on May 2, 1998. He was found hung by a towel tied to a doorknob in his apartment. Officials label the death a suicide, though many people close to the guitarist question whether that was the case. Theories exist that hide's death was an accident likely cause from from passing out while drunk.
