X Japan member YOSHIKI is speaking out against people who buy tickets to their concert and resell them for profit.
Over the summer, X Japan will be going on tour across Japan, and YOSHIKI will be holding dinner shows. Advance tickets recently went on sale, with many fans unable to secure them during this period.
With tickets so scarce, ticket scalpers saw an opportunity to make money. Tickets to the concerts have appeared on resale site at 10-20 times the original purchase price. YOSHIKI is not happy about this.
In a statement released on April 25, YOSHIKI spoke out against the practice of ticket scalping.
"For me, lives are a precious and important place where you can communicate with your fans. Through the actions of some heartless people, our beloved fans who genuinely want to enjoy music are being hurt, and this is can not be permitted," YOSHIKI said.
Ticket scalping is not just an issue for X Japan and YOSHIKI; many artists experience this problem. YOSHIKI hopes to work with other artists and organizations to prevent this practice from continuing.
As X Japan continues it live activities, the band is also working on completing its long-awaited comeback album. Earlier this month, YOSHIKI announced that it will be released by the end of the year.
