Catch a snippet of Matenrou Opera’s new sound through a preview of “PHOENIX RISING”!

Matenrou Opera is on the verge of releasing their new mini-album PHOENIX RISING and, in typical J-rock fashion, they’ve published a quick digest to their YouTube channel today.
One question that’s been on many of the fans’ minds (including mine) is, “how will their new music sound without Anzi?”, their former guitarist. Now, the band did preview this mini-album during a Nico Nico broadcast last week, but listening to it from this fresh video gives us a better feel for the tracks. The band still sounds great, just as we’ve come to expect from them. Although these clips are pretty short, you can definitely hear an evolution of sorts in their sound, especially when comparing it to their latest works, such as their fourth album Chikyu. But they retain their core sound through rich synths, and a pronounced rhythm section, tied together with powerful and melodic vocals. And, when it comes to the guitar, Leda of FAR EAST DIZAIN offered his talents as support; his style sounds like it’s easily complimenting their songs thus far, but we’ll know just how well he does once the mini-album is released on October 19!
