Yoshiki Announces Special Classical Concert At Carnegie Hall

Yoshiki, the leader of the well-known band X Japan, has announced that he will be holding a special classical concert at the prestigious Carnegie Hall with the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra.
The event, titled "Yoshiki Classical Special Featuring Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra", will take place on January 12 and 13. For the concert, he will be playing original compositions alongside the world-renowned Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as several traditional classical pieces.

“I began taking piano lessons and music theory at age four, and became interested in classical works by Beethoven and Schubert,” explained Yoshiki. “In elementary school, I played the trumpet in the brass band, and around age ten started composing songs for piano. I’ve been writing classical music ever since. Needless to say, classical music has been a major influence in my musical career, including X Japan. I was fortunate enough to play Madison Square Garden 2 years ago with my band X Japan. Now I’m playing Carnegie Hall as a pianist with Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, which was another dream of mine. Words can’t describe how honored I am to be performing at such a prestigious venue with an amazing orchestra.”

The Carnegie Hall concert is part of  larger classical concert tour. Yoshiki will be performing the concert in Japan from December 5 -8, and in Hong Kong on December 29.
Tickets to the Carnegie Hall concert range between $40 - $105 and go on sale on September 29. You can visit the Carnegie Hall website to purchase them.
