New Album ‘X JAPAN’
After X Japan’s appearance at Kouhaku Utagassen yesterday, Yoshiki had a special broadcast on his Nico Nico channel, where he also talked about their upcoming album.
The album will be simply self-titled ‘X JAPAN’ and will contain 12 songs. 8 of these will be main songs, while the remaining 4 will be a kind of interlude. A while ago Yoshiki has already mentioned that all of the songs will be new post-reunion material and 90% of the lyrics will be in English.
But Yoshiki didn’t only talk about the new album: He is also planning to perform at Sundance Festival – either on January 22nd or 23rd – where their documentary film ‘We Are X’ will be shown.
He is also planning to organize a music festival and already booked the venue, but no further details have been revealed yet.
TV Appearances Summary
On December 25th, X appeared at Music Station Super Live, where they performed ‘Born to be free’ and ‘X’. For the first song, all of them were wearing Santa Claus costumes and both the audience and the band had a blast!
On December 31th they joined the huge music show Kouhaku Utagassen and performed a short medley of ‘Forever Love’ and ‘Born to be free’. Yoshiki accompanied ‘Hana wa Saku’, which many of the artists performed together. The song is a project by NHK to support those who suffer under the consequenes of the Tohoku Earthquake
