X Japan will appear on Kohaku Utagassen

As you all may know, X Japan will appear on Kohaku Utagassen (“Kohaku”) on New Year’s Eve in Japan. Kohaku means red and white, with the red team representing female singers (musicians) and white team representing male singers (musicians). They will battle against each other with their performances. This is going to be the 66th Kohaku and 6th appearance for Xjapan and the first time in 18 years! The last appearance was in 1997 with HIDE and was their very last show before they got disbanded.
X Japan performed their “Last Live” at the Tokyo Dome right before they appeared on Kohaku on 12/31/1997. They last performed “Forever Love".

It will air LIVE at 7:15 pm (Japan Time) and will end at 11:45 pm on New Year’s Eve (12/31) on NHK broadcasting.

Additionally, Yoshiki will play the song called “Hanawasaku” (Flowers will broom) on piano while others will sing along. The song was created after 3.11 (2011) to support people in the regions affected by 3.11 catastrophe. Yoshiki was asked to take part in this as he is a great pianist and he has been very active in making efforts to help those people with his charity works. The song is very touching and beautiful, and it will be a very beautiful special moment for the song to be played by Yoshiki who has a very special sincere beautiful caring heart.
