the GazettE pushed out their first
substantial preview with a lyrics video of the new album ending track
OMINOUS.
For the past months which the upcoming album
DOGMA has been promoted (teased)—and even way before that, starting 2009
with the album DIM—they have been forcefully trying to push a new concept
that is more elegant and mysterious, oppose to the rebel concept previously
used. Even though having this "elegant and mysterious" concept as a goal, the
band still made some significant changes over the course, but by all means
retaining the core approach the same.
Arguably, DIM is seen as
their best work so far to the majority (but not to me), and that is clearly
shown in the GazettE's
Oricon chart where DIM reign as the most sold album. After hearing
OMINOUS and every promotional media the band has been offering, it might
be safe to say that we'll be hearing something along the line of DIM, a
modern version of it perhaps?
This is at least what Ruki had to say about
the album:
...we thought about if we should leave the mechanically sounds out. It’s because we wanted to go in the opposite direction of, 'BEAUTIFUL DEFORMITY' [their previous album].
[...]
I had the feeling, that the whole image of the album became gradually solid, but within me, at the time we made 'OMINOUS', as I wrote it, I looked at a concrete picture, the [album artwork] for example, and my worldview became firmly solid.
